Valve announced they will release their new version of their old TFC map, Badlands, on Thursday, as well as some small changes to Well (CTF), Dustbowl, and Granary, not to mentions a grab bag of other tweaks.
It’s a long list, but of note:
Trains will be running on the CTF version of Well. Yay! It’s always funny to get killed by the train, though I wish there was a deathcam screenshot of an engineer driving it.
Added a small delay (200 ms) before a zoomed sniper shot can get a critical hit. I dunno what difference that’ll make, though I just started playing as Sniper again last night and I totally pwned. Or at least partially pwned. ‘Course, it’s kinda easy to dominate when you never step more than a few feet from your spawn point.
Added flamethrower “sizzle” sound when the Pyro is hitting a target. Um, cool? Sure, cool!
Updated glass material. Windows don’t always translate well into Garry’s Mod, I wonder if this will help.
Full list here. Unfortunately I won’t get to play for a few days because I’m on a business trip to Reno until Sunday. That also means no blogging, so just sit there, staring sadly at this site until I return.

Go you. But now, everyone knows your name on TF2.
I hope they start adding updates for the console versions…my pc doesn’t like tf2 too much…

The new sizzle sound for Pyro’s flamethrower has me excited. I’ll finally be able to tell if I’m actually burning who ever is at the receiving end of the flamethrower.
…not that the “HELP I’M ON FIRE” and the whole actual fire didn’t tell me.

It won’t. According to a Valve guy’s comment on Shacknews, this was actually added in the last patch, they just forgot to slap it in the changelog.

That’s too bad. I’m tired of snipers darting out from a corner then “scoping” and delivering his terrible headshot unto my person in one fell swoop. Pity it’s been implemented all this while :/

The snipers all always my first objective when I play as spy :P

Yeah, there was a spy with his eye on me in that match. Problem was, he always approached me:
1) From the front
2) Disguised as me
Bit of a giveaway.
