Okay, Okay, I’ll Stop Standing There And Come In

Jim Rossingnol of PC Gamer UK has a wonderful piece on RPS about why he still plays Stalker.  It mirrors my own personal feelings about the game and why, despite my well-documented frustrations with it, I always forgive it and go scuttling back.  In fact, his article really makes me want to play again.  Right now.

Damn you, Rossignol.  Damn you to whatever the British version of hell is.

    Also I’ve never played Stalker but I like how he mentions there being no women. Highly detailed realistic game full of asexually reproducing men?

    There is a single reference to women, but she seems to be a delusion of some sorts. Also, Mooshakes, Stalker is set in the zone (a area around Chernobyl) so the people in it weren’t born there, instead they snuck into it from the normal world, I assume that because of the loneliness and difficulty escaping the zone again that there are no women since the risk of sexual assault is too high.
