Once again, the best game I’ve never played has shambled further into the future. The co-op zombie shooter Left 4 Dead, scheduled to be released on November 4th, has been moved to November 20th, to coincide with the 10th anniversary of Half-Life.
Not much of a delay this time, just a few weeks. But still. Arrgh.

I love it when people use a platform like this ultra-popular TF2 blog to give some promotion to small, little known webcomics that are struggling to stay afloat. Going to this “Penny Arcade”, you can almost smell the ramen, the thrice used boxers, and the moldy stench of unpaid bills and eviction notices used to plug the toilet that the landlord had promised to fix a year ago.

I don’t find it a big deal that it is a bit delayed. I somehow don’t really care that much about delays anymore. I’ll enjoy the games WHEN they come out. As long as Team Fortress 2 updates, there is enough to do.
Only one and a half week to spore, so we have something to do in the meanwhile. (gonna have to get me a second pc to be able to play two games at once.)

16 days is hardly a push back. If people complain about this, they need to be shot. If people expected a Valve game not to be pushed back a couple more times, they need to be shot.

I’m really not giving any thought to delays because we have such a glut of games coming out in the next 6 months. Unfortunately, I’m still running the laptop I got in ‘04 - which, granted, was badass 4 years ago - but it just doesn’t stack up any more. I’m stuck with a 128 MB Radeon 9700 and (upgraded) 2 GB of RAM. Sure the CPU is a 3.2 ghz, but it’s single processor.
We’ve got Spore, Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, Empire Total War (for the nerd in me) coming relatively soon and someday down the road Episode 3 and Portal 2.
A friend and I have repeatedly had the discussion that console gaming will kill the PC because of the difference in investment it takes to be a gamer, and I always said no, the PCs are worth the investment due to superior capability and gameplay, and while I still feel that way, knowing it’s worth it isn’t worth much when you literally can’t afford it.

i’m actually moderately glad that L4D has been delayed, not only because it means valve is most likely fixing or improving some aspect of the game, but because it gives me a chance to play, watch, and listen to all the games, movies, and albums on my ever-increasing to-verb list.
now the only obstacle left to overcome is my crippling TF2 addiction.

My joke was in reference to the fact that you could be promoting a lesser known comic, rather than the MOST POWERFUL COMIC HTML PRODUCT KNOWN TO MAN.
See, I was noting how they looked poor, even though they quite obviously aren’t. They make (I’d wager) six figures, they get invited to MIT for crying out loud, and they run the most successful gaming convention in the universe.
