The Left 4 Dead Official Blog is up on the Left 4 Dead Official Site. Will they be more diligent about posting than their counterparts over at the nearly silent TF2 Official Blog? Time will tell.
In their first post, Valve’s Mike Booth discusses the rigorous playtesting the game is currently undergoing by the staff and whatever friends and family members they can round up, and points out that playing their game around the clock isn’t always a whole lot of fun. Of the playtesting experience on another Valve game, he says:
After three days of testing Half Life 2, Gabe Newell’s cousin gouged out his own eyes, turned his bloody face to the sky and began screaming, “I can still see Alyx!” So what with the constant game playing and the eye trauma, it’s all pretty horrific.
With L4D, however, a game designed specifically for replayability, they seem to be having more fun with the playtesting grind than usual.

Left 4 Dead nerf

One can only hope that Valve realizes that TF2 players only know that the TF2 blog is updated when they read it on some other guy’s blog…

So, since Valve only updates their TF2 blog every 2 weeks, and their L4D blog may be just as sporadic, why not offer a page where they weave the news of the two together? Or at least make sure the two reliably come out on alternating weeks so I feel like I’m getting a fairly quick to update blog.

Nice that they put a blog up for l4d aswell.
It seems to be a quick copy/paste of the tf2 blog though, the rss feed even shows the items of the tf2 blog!

Yeah, and it’s title is “TF2 Official Blog”.
I think Valve needs better web developers.

RSS seems fixed again. Strange for something like that to even get live, hope they bug test L4D a bit better :)

Man, this better be more regular than the TF2 blog, because it’s currently holding precious bookmark space on my toolbar.
It had better earn it.

@2: RSS feeds are your friends. Know exactly when obscure sites you visit only for news have updated without having to lift a finger!
@8: Aftershock, you keep your RSS bookmarks on the toolbar? Stick them in another folder, for Pete’s sake.
@Valve: Damn you. Now I’m going to have to play through L4D as close to release as I can get to avoid getting spoiler’d on scenes in each campaign.

@9 RRS bookmarks comprise over half of my bookmarks, so I think I’ll keep them up there.

I read on the Official TF2 Blog that they will be adding a new class in the next patch. The new class will be the Batman. The Batman class will be armed with a baterang, a grappling hook, and a batmobile. He will be able to cloak like he Spy. (If armed with the batmobile, it is also cloaked.) The Batman will also be immune to mortal weapons.

I agree with #1 L4D needs nerf, it’s just too good at taking out sentry nests and other players, increase the health of all bosses and boost player slots to 6, just like the model, to encourage more people to use it.
Also HL2:E3 needs it’s production time slashed.
*Temporary craziness over*

I’m just posting here to change my website link.
On topic, I wonder how effective the sniper rifle will be in this game.

My son knew he needed to stop smoking. He’d just seen his father die at 38 from lung cancer. That was the spark that made him realize that smoking could literally kill him. Unfortunately, every time he tried to stop, he would yield to temptation within a few days. I looked at using a nicotine patch and nicotine gum, but didn’t want him to use either. For me, it seemed silly to take the same substance that causes the addiction - nicotine.
I searched for a natural and safe method to quit smoking: http://freshnewsday.com/stop-smoking.html
How it works?
