This is funny.  Joystiq, which I don’t read too much because, like almost all gaming sites, they’re too console-gasmic, scores a win by asking a bunch of adventure game creators to solve a small hypothetical adventure game puzzle.  Most participants, including Valve’s Eric Wolpaw and even my personal hero, Sam & Max’s Steve Purcell, don’t do much with the puzzle, which is, frankly, kinda lame.

Then they pose the question to Tim Schafer, the mind behind Full Throttle and Psychonauts.  And he runs with it by actually playing it — them — as if he were actually in an adventure game.  Hilarious.

And hats off to Joystiq, for keeping up with Schafer’s brain and creating, on the fly, a ridiculous but entertaining set of options.  I hereby pledge to read their site more often.

“Though you’ve made it pasta this obstacle, you’d best consider an escape route if you don’t want to wind up in a penne-tentiary.”

    Aha, I loved that bit.

You chuckle merrily at the amusing article. Shortly thereafter, you get hit by a bus.

Chris12- If someone goes and makes this into a real adventure game, I will never again underestimate the internet.

I liked Gilbert complaining it was a daft puzzle.

But Schafer diving straight into it and not explaining what it was he was doing was genius.

How interesting, fellow human Jackie. Human relationships, which I can understand as a human, are certainly likely to be interesting to our HuMan reproductive drives. My human website has more on the subject.

    >enter cave

You enter the cave and are quite likely to be eaten by a grue.

    >eat grue

The grue lurking in the dark doesn’t agree with you on this.
