Fallout 3: Slave Trade Follow-Up

So, as I detailed yesterday in this post, I enslaved a cheerful scavenger, and felt like crap about it when it turned out he had no idea where to report for slave duty and ran off in the wrong direction.

I couldn’t sleep last night (not because of this — I didn’t feel that guilty) so I got up around 4am this morning and played a little. I decided to see what had become of him.

I got to Paradise Falls, and was paid and given a new collar, which means he somehow found his way there in one piece. Hooray! I feel a tiny bit better. I checked the pen but didn’t see him in there, and there’s no sign of his robot, either.

I don’t know how the game handles random people you enslave or if it keeps track of them once they reach Paradise Falls. It might not track them at all — they’re randomly spawning, nameless NPCs, so I guess if you enslaved hundreds of raiders or regulators or scavengers, they won’t cram them all into the pen — it would be a mess. Still, I’m going with the idea that he was sold to someone who will treat him nicely. He was awfully pleasant.

So, I still I feel guilty, but at least I know he didn’t wind up being devoured by ghouls or dragged off by a Mirelurk as he ran frantically around the wastes.

I’ve just found Paradise Falls and become a slaver myself. I have to capture Red and Flak, but I like Flak. :(

I think it’d be awesome if you could enslave these people, then later on have a change of heart like you have, and try to amend your ways by freeing them again.

I actually stumbled across this guy today. He was outside that repair shop near the traders town. I fixed his robot for him and sent him on his way.

Still not sure whether to get Fallout 3. I know it’s awesome and all, but there’s a lot of cool games out this month and I can only afford a couple. Is this one of the best?

@13 — I’ve been considering replacing my old desktop ever since its power supply got toasted in an electrical storm a few months ago. I think the chance to play Fallout 3 with all the bells and whistles is the factor that will finally push me over the edge.

I played fallout 3 last night for a few hours before going to bed. I had a dream where I was living in fallout 3, and this morning I’m not sure where the game ended and the dream began. and did I really buy a bunch of those stat-increasing guides, or not.

I’m playing as an evil character too so I’m gonna become a slaver when I get to Paradise Falls. It almost makes me regret blowing up Megaton because there’s some very nice potential slaves there, and I may try to enslave Burke and Tenpenny too. :p

I too, am a slaver, but thats not what i wanted to post.

I was walking around, minding my own business when out of no where a huge black streak goes accros the sky and slams into one of the radio towers you find around. upon inspection of the tower i found a alien gun with ammo scatterd around, the ammo was radiated and when i used the gun it was kick arse…any way, any one else see this?

That’s a random event that happens sometimes.
No-one knows what triggers it.

And unfortunately, you can’t enslave named NPCs, except the ones mentioned in the quest.

Hell, so far I haven’t been able to Mez anyone except Susan and Flak; even generic raiders resist it. :-(

Wish you could collar Eulogy Jones though.

Man I haven’t seen any slavers.
On the plus side I have a ghoul manservant equipped in power armour and a minigun. I have a plasma rifle and tesla armour and people give me stimpaks every few seconds :).

Oh and some vampires love me :D

It’s nice that he made it. It’s the cherry on top of a wierd and funny story. That said, I am still against slavery, and I cannot belive you would do that.

encogen, that is both the most awesome and most confusing pic i’ve ever seen!

And Washcloth? the alien spaceship it there regardless of whether you see it or not (i think) as i’ve got the console version of fallout 3 and have the alien blaster.
Just gotta find some more ammo for it now…

PS: Its not bad to be a slaver if you decide to massacre the whole Paradise Falls and free the one you enslaved…. That’s how I did it, gained my karma back and earned some money from them slavers…..Im such a heartless bastard lol

Dude….. I’m a Slaver and a Slave owner…. first i take their crap then send em on their way…. I’ve enslaved Red and the other guy, but accidentally got into a fight with Flak when i tried to mez him… then he got killed by my custom mines….. ya i set those up everywhere then come back a while later just to see who the unlucky PHUKER was who stepped on it…. it’s usually an animal, but once that slut bittercup stepped on one…. sometimes i set one up in Rivet City, then stand by the wall just to se who activates it…. you guys should try it its loads of fun yo….

I leave that kind of fun for my second character so far am just enjoying the game. I did make a point of enslaving a few Talon Merc who are hunting me around. Funny thing is so far the game does not provide you with a quest to send a message to those idiots not to mess with you. You would have think that they would flee from my character by now. lolll

Theres 2 different alien blasters.
Theres the firelance which is a random encounter that sets them on fire before they dicintergrate then theres the alien blaster at the crashed spaceship with the alien, that one is always there.

You cannot find any more ammo for either of them, so use it wisely.

dude sometimes the slave didn’t make it but you still get the reward and a new collar

lol i luuuuuuuv slavin people but i caant get fllak and susan cuz the guards at tenpenny or other dudes in rivet see me and i had u kill em all, then later load back at rivet entrance cuz of karma! HELP!!!!!!!!
