Fallout 3 Ads Spotted in DC Metro

October 7th, 2008 · 15 Comments · Games

Awesome idea.

I’m in a bit of a Fallout 3 media blackout right now, because I’m going to buy the game and don’t want to see anymore screenshots or videos.  I’ve seen enough, I’m sold, I’m buying it, so I don’t want any more info on the game to keep it as fresh as possible for when I actually play it.  No more screenshots and videos of Fallout 3!

Anyhoo, here’s some screenshots and videos of Fallout 3.  Most of which you’ve probably already seen if you’ve visited their site, Prepare for the Future.

Thanks to Katya for sending me the ad link!

Those flythroughs were really awesome, I simply can’t wait to get this game now :(

If I’ve been sold and willing to give it a try no matter what I hear about it, is that bad? I mean, I like Fallout 1 & 2; I like Oblivion. Why not give it a shot?

That’s pretty cool. Hopefully nobody will think it’s the terrorists like here: http://www.forbes.com/2007/02/01/cx_ml_0201varitytv.html

I’ve seen a couple ads pop up around LA, but mostly billboards and other traditional stuff.

oh and on a side note:

Oblivion and Fallout 3 would be good, if the voice acting wasn’t stupidly over-dramatic.
And also, i hate how it slightly zooms into your face in that stupid RPG way. And the way thier mouths move while they talk is unrealistic and really sucks you out of the game :\
but meh, whatever turns people on I guess :|

Roadrunner, i totally agree, I think Fallout 3 developers would have been wise to take a page out of Mass Effect’s book for their dialogue, but for me, there has always been enough content besides the NPC interaction to make the game enjoyable.

Haven’t heard the bitching you heard with the GTA 4 ads in similar places back in April. Yet…

Yeah, I hate how following every detail of a game before it is released is ultimately just setting yourself up for disappointment. Game developers have a habit of taking trivial things and making them sound like features.

The more footage of Fallout 3 I see, the more I think of a “7 out of 10″ game. Good, but with some flaws. It’s cute to see the Oblivion mechanics still entact (speaking as an Oblivion fan), but some kind of evolution would have been nice instead of the same ‘aul crap.

I’d like to apologise on behalf of Australian gamers for our government. Cause they’re a bunch of pot-smoking doucheheads.

The edited version of Fallout 3 that Australia will be getting, ’cause of “drug references”, is the one that everyone else will receive.

    Sorry =(
