If you know some loser who hasn’t yet joined the legions of TF2 players, or if you yourself are one of those very losers — loser – this is a great time to get on the point. The Team Fortress 2 free weekend has begun.
All you need to do is get a Steam account if you don’t have one already (it’s free), download TF2 (also free) and play — for free! Then all you have to do is join a server, choose the medic class, begin immediately and repeatedly calling for a medic, and you’ll fit right in.
The free weekend ends May 4th at 1pm PST so put off that important gall bladder surgery for a few days and get fraggin’, laggin’, cappin’, and sappin’!

On the Goldrush servers I’ve been on, I haven’t seen many people being Medic. Mind you, I did get a chance to play Demo since no-one else was doing it, which was fun, especially against the French

It’s a shame that my graphics card is just graham cracker with some wires sticking out of it. Otherwise, I too would be playing TF2, and perhaps screwing around with Gmod, then getting frustrated and just stretching the corners of thier mouths as far as they go. *sigh*

I’m trying to predict what the server dynamics are going to be like with the influx of new players. Maybe a glut of soldiers, since that seems to be a popular newbie class?

I love the free weekend so far. Even while I needed to instruct my friend in everything I still got 2nd place.
And there were some really nice people on too,
I got a compliment about my excellent skill to lure them into my stickybombs.
Then he copied my methods and got revenge.

My computer ran TF2 fine during beta, then when they implemented this ‘paged pool memory’ update it blue-screens a lot

blue screen = driver issue, or hardware failure. No application can make your computer blue screen (assuming you’re running windows xp or newer).

Free weekend for me so far:
My usual server is full of what I can only describe as OLYMPIANS. I dunno what happened but it seems every pro out there just decided to look for fresh meat ONLY on the one server I truely like to play on. It was…bad, and I’m not a chump by any means, but it was BAD. So I bounced around and settled on a different server…
…a server full of n00bs.
I don’t think ANYONE there knew what a spy was. After playing there for a few hours I felt MUCH better about myself. If I had a small penis, that sever was my Hummer.

Hmm the free weekend is awesome, because I own TF2 on PS3, I already know the ins and outs of how its played, giving me a slight advantage.
Joined a server this morning, 5 medics, 6 soldiers and an engineer on my team, so I went scout.
Also holy-shit LIO in PCGamerUK must buy now!!!!

I just want to say that that is a great comment. Also I played for a bout a day of the free weekend then I got GTA:IV and ignored TF2. TF2 is a good game , I’ll admit that. I personally prefer (Team) Fortress Forever but I will probably get some fun out of TF2 when I ind a way to get the Orange Box. Why no e-check VALVe why!?
